Bill's Notes

[Bill, June 4, 2008]
Thrown Under the Bus ... I missed the bus ... when's the next bus?
Tepid congratulations to Barack Obama, who has apparently clinched the Democratic nomination, being the first metis to be nominated by one of the two major parties.

Obama is still somewhat of a mystery to me. On one hand, he believes a whole lot of crazy leftist bullshit. On the other hand, he has a tendency to throw crazy people under the bus (except his grandmother — that was unfair.)

Some conservatives says, "Look, he throws people under the bus." But they forget the vector involved — Obama is a man of the Left. Wouldn't you prefer he toss some of them under the bus in the name of practicality? And as conservatives, we were thrown under the bus so many times by the GOP in the past eight years that we now can tell whether the bus has got snow tires on or not.

So I'm sitting here wondering. McCain wins — we get thrown under the bus. Obama wins — leftists tossed under the bus.

(Don't worry. I'm half-kidding.)

NOTE: Spelling of metis changed to account for the correct gender, as noted by Jim in the comments.

I think Obama deserves, if nothing else, a hearty round of thanks for finally, finally, finally succeeding in throwing Hillary under the bus.

Unless he's crazy enough to select her as his running mate. In which case we get four or eight more years of Team Billary and their dysfunctional antics in the limelight.

(In case you hadn't already guessed, I've resigned myself to the likelihood that Barack Obama will be our next President.)

I'm resigning myself to it, too. Not happy about it, though.

In your story you say:

the first metisse to be nominated by one of the two major parties.

According to Dictionary.com, 1. a woman of mixed ancestry.
2. (initial capital letter) Canadian. a woman of white, esp. French, and American Indian parentage.

I believe you meant metis, which refers to any person of mixed ancestry.

I stand corrected.

And here I thought you meant he was a God, but then that's probably because I believe in a lot of leftist bullshit.
