Solar Eclipse This Year
For all you who were excited about the lunar eclipse, I just wanted to give you a heads-up that there will a total solar eclipse on Aug. 1, 2008. Unfortunately, you'll have travel to northern Canada, Siberia, western Mongolia or China to see it. See the cool graphic here.

We in the U.S. won't get one until, well, it depends on the source. I recall the last one visible from the East Coast when I was a boy, but I don't know when the next one will be like that.
