Southside Johnny
So last night I got three CDs from Amazon, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, the first three albums: I Don't Want to Go Home, This Time It's for Real, and Hearts of Stone. I haven't listened to any Southside in a good 20 years. But wow ... these albums are as fresh as ever. Some of the greatest music ever made, if you like rhythm & blues. I forgot about Miami Steve's opening vocals in "Broke Down Piece of Man" and that Ronnie Spector did a duet with Southside on "You Mean So Much to Me." Just an extraordinary set of music. Back in the day, I saw Southside about three or four times ... the last time was at Walsh Gym back in '84. Whew! Time flies. Music lasts.

Now if I can just find a CD of The Jukes, which is out of print. It contains four great songs: "All I Want is Everything," "I'm So Anxious," "Vertigo," and "I Remember Last Night." "Paris" is pretty good, too.
