Bill Quick's The List
Here's a pretty good list of the GOP and Bush Administration failures seen from the right.

There's no doubt that President Bush's glacial pacing and refusal to fight the War on Terror with any kind of seriousness has worn down many of us on the right when it comes to defense. It's made the next president's job more difficult. The War on Terror is, officially, in the words of my friend John V., like "watching a gang of monkeys try to fuck a football."

As a fiscally conservative-minded liberal, the list covers many of the things on my list of complaints. I can understand the some of the military adventurism in a conservative world view, but I have been absolutely stunned by stuff like the drug bill and spending of Bush/GOP.

To Bush's conservative credit, Bush never met a tax cut he didn't like if it helped the top income groups and he has delivered you a couple of judges that fit your bill. (Not that I like these in particular, but I don't think the list gave Bush credit for his "positive" conservative actions).

My questions for you guys: if actually agree that the list of failures are failures - have you been pushing and writing your representatives about their performance or withholding donations to your party? Are you going to take any action after the elections that might get some of the items on the list changed?

The GOP has been a marvel of control and coherence on their message. I must say that I do admire that about them. However, I don't wonder if that emphasis on coherence and control of power hasn't in effect caused some of the items on this list by a stifling of debate within the GOP.

I suspect that the list is simply a whine because the author is feeling the heat in a mid-term election.

I have to say I miss the days when conservatives were busy gloating about Afghanistan and wondering if it was too early to gloat about Iraq.

Before, I could at least hope that maybe I was wrong, they were right and everything wasn't going pear shaped in both countries.
