CNN Submits to Dhimmitude
CNN writes in its story regarding the Danish Mohammed-cartoon controversy:

CNN has chosen to not show the cartoons in respect for Islam.

There it is. Can you imagine CNN allowing anyone else to tell them what they can and can't publish?

Wow. Pure cowardice. They're well-prepared to become dhimmis. Didn't think I'd ever see that.

There's a difference between prudence and cowardice, and a difference between showing respect for a religion and giving in to fear. I wonder if CNN would run a picture of a T-shirt a friend mentioned to me that said "Mary was a Virgin only if you don't count anal"?

Newsweek was blamed for several weeks of violence when it reported - accurately, truthfully - that an unnamed source had stated that there were incidents of intentional abuse of Korans at Guantanamo Bay, including flushing a Koran down a statement. (The unnamed source later retracted his statement due to lack of supporting evidence. But Newsweek's reporting of his statement was true and accurate.) What would CNN be blamed for in the coming weeks if they did run these cartoons? I could imagine that if Jill Carroll's head were to be delivered in a box addressed to her parents in care of CNN's Baghdad bureau chief, they would take a little flak.

By the way, if you'd care to take a stand by displaying these cartoons yourself, it took me two seconds to find them online:

The site's in Danish, but the pictures appear to be the ones causing all the fuss.

"down a statement"? How the hell did that happen? It should have said, of course, "down a toilet".

Heh. That link to the cartoons no longer works. It worked last night. Still, you can see a thumbnail of the bomb-for-a-turban cartoon by doing a Google image search on "Mohammed cartoon". Or you could just pick up today's Wilkes-Barre Citizen's Voice; they've got a small version of the cartoon on their front page.
