Bill's Notes

[Industrialblog, June 16, 2005]
It's back ...
Did you miss IndustrialBlog the past two days?

Well, it's back for a while at least. Nothing more today but this entry. Stay tuned in upcoming weeks for the following topics:

1. Why Dubya has ruined everything.
2. Are we going ever going to get around to invading Iran and Saudia Arabia?
3. Double standards, hypocrisy and the urge to call someone nasty names.
4. A colleage thinks Al Qaeda is justified in its actions and that terrorists are pragmatic and reasonable. Should he be tied to a stake and left for the dogs to feed on?
5. What is worship and what kinds of things become worship.

Topics you will not be seeing:

1. Reaction to the Terri Schiavo case. Didn't have a strong opinion before, don't have one now, refuse to get into an argument about it. Glad I avoided it. Can't imagine what the anger is all about ... I'm just above it all on this issue, dismissive and condescending, like Zeus.
2. Lessons in classical Greek or Latin.
3. Anything about anyone named Bolton or the confirmation hearings of anyone not nominated to the Supreme Court.
4. Yankee gloating (it's too soon).
5. More politics.

That's all. Okay, guys, coffee break's over — back on your heads.

Glad to see you're back. But now I can't read it without great difficulty! Everything looked normal this morning at home through Firefox, but here at work with IE it's all messed up. (Black and medium-dark blue text on a dark blue background, all stacked vertically.) Is there something wrong on my end or - just a guess - something wrong with your "style sheet"?

ah - you really are returning to politics?
it was just getting pleasant around here...

Mike, are you seeing the same formatting stuff I am? I've rebooted my PC since the last comment, and it's still the same. Commentor's names are nicely highlighted in white, by the way, and the box where you type the comments is white, too.

I'm having the same problems, too. Do not adjust your screen. I have no idea what's wrong.

And mlaff, I am NOT returning to politics. Not the topics I'm not addressing.

Did you mean to say "Note the topics"?

Bill (mail) (www):
er, yes, note the topics

Here's another possible clue as to what's going on: Yesterday the Powerblogs site looked fine on IE, but was vertically stacked on Firefox. (No funky color scheme, though.) So that's sort of the opposite of the situation on your site today.

Yes, I did miss IndustrialBlog these past two days... Glad to see you're back! I was honestly beginning to fear that you'd gone and pulled the site.

Formatting looks okay to me— but then again, I'm using Opera for Linux, which is a world unto itself when it comes to fonts and rendering.

Once again, good to see that you're back!
