Coffee
Alton Brown is right. You gotta put a lot more coffee in the coffee maker than the package suggests to make coffee right. Now I'm putting in 4 even tablespoons for 4 cups of water and it comes out as good as Folgers gets.

YMMV.

Holy cow!!! 1 tsp/cup makes me jittery in the mornign (of course, it's also on an empty stomach usually, and drunk essentially 3 cups at a time-- I have a big mug... I'm guessing it tastes better your way though....

Out here in the Iowa countryside, when I stagger downstairs bleary eyed and half awake at six in the morning, it's six heaping tablespoons for six cups of water— that's Hills Brothers coffee, which I notice these past few years no longer has a picture of Osama bin Laden on the side of the can like it always used to...

If Osama's in hiding he can't keep his pictures on cans, or something like that.

Six heaping for six cups? What, do you slice a cup off in the morning :)
