Must've been some foul
A basketball player is charged with assault for fouling an opponent during a day.

Brings new meaning to the phrase, "No charges, no foul."

I'd need to see the foul to see if this is as stupid as it sounds.

Back in the late 80's, my school's girls basketball team was beating the hell out of a team from somewhere in the wilds of Phildadelphia in the state finals or semi-finals. With only a few seconds to go, one of the inbred steroid freaks from the other team grabbed one of our girls by the ponytail and smashed her head to the ground, where she lay, stunned and badly injured. I don't think charges were filed, but I was all for summary execution of the entire opposing team.
