Weekend music: Let's get to the 90s
Turns out this band Weezer started up in the 90s. Here's some cool stuff I found on You Tube.

Buddy Holly.

Hash Pipe.

Keep Fishin' (with Muppets)

Perfect Situation.

Photograph.

Got some great songs. But wow, what a crappy name for a band.

Peggy Noonan gets it
Here is her analysis of what's wrong with the Republicans.

FTR, she described my feelings here:

Many are ambivalent, deep inside, about the decisions made the past seven years in the White House. But they've publicly supported it so long they think they . . . support it. They get confused. Late at night they toss and turn in the antique mahogany sleigh bed in the carpeted house in McLean and try to remember what it is they really do think, and what those thoughts imply.

Then there's this:

Mr. Bush has squandered the hard-built paternity of 40 years. But so has the party, and so have its leaders.

In the past eight years, we've seen the resurgence of unapologetic leftism -- and that worries me. Read Theodore Dalrymple's Life at the Bottom and Our Culture: What's Left of It to see where we our country will be heading if cultural leftism gets mixed with real political power. It ain't pretty.

Do we have a Republican in this race?
That was my thought after John McCain's global-warming speech.

Um, hi
Yeah, I disappeared for a week. Started updating, got y'all thinking I was posting regularly, and then ... gone for another week. I reckon I didn't have much to say. Things have been going pretty well, thank God.
