TEC
I have done some reading recently on The Episcopal Church (TEC). TWS, a TEC seminarian, got me thinking about TEC, and it's nice to check in and see how things are going.

My take (hardly just my own): There are two religions within TEC, and a split would probably be best so both parties will stop being an irritant to one another, and both can go forward and do their thing unimpeded.

That said, it occurs to me that on this blog, I've never discussed the new Episcopal religion on the merits. That's something to put on my to-do list.

On injured reserve
Some typing possible with the left arm. Still hurts like hell, but I can at least do it. BTW, I'm proud of y'all. None of you made the obvious joke when I said I'd hurt my forearm. Kudos to you.

While I'm here, some quick opinions:

1. I like El Nino, I like warm winters, and I'm not entirely convinced that Global Warming isn't just a nice break between ice ages that we should all be thankful for.

2. The economy has been booming for years, we've had unemployment low for ages, and the deficit is under control. Don't fuck it up, Dems.

3. Over on my side of the blogosphere, which is called the right for good reason, we've had a series of stupid errors. To wit: John Kerry allegedly sitting alone at a cafeteria in Iraq, the exaggerated demises of both Castro and Khamenei. Let's make more of an effort to remember the fundamentals of confirming info and not making stupid assumptions.

4. Difference between right and left: The left is astonished to learn that there are two sides to every story, and then tend toward excessive credulity.

5. We need to pray to convert Osama Bin Laden to Christianity. The Gospel is for Muslims, too. Pray for our enemies. Where's a St. Francis of Assisi when you need him? Someone needs to go to Waziristan and ask Bin Laden to convert.

6. Apparently there's been a dramatic decline in Catholicism in France. From 80% in 1990 to 51% today. Wow. Big numbers in less than a generation. I don't suppose they all joined the Episcopal Church. Heh. But it's really not funny. It shows just quickly monumental changes can happen.

7. That's all I can do now, both brain and arm shutting down.
